Firehouse Subs has always placed public service at the heart of what we do. In 2005, our founders established the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. After traveling to Mississippi to feed first responders and survivors, Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen knew there was more Firehouse Subs could do to help. Over the last two decades, our Foundation has granted over $98 million in communities across the United States and over $5 million across Canada to provide first responders with the tools, lifesaving equipment, and education materials they need to get the job done, as well as much needed resources in the wake of natural and man-made disasters. A portion of each purchase goes toward the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and its mission to do good.
A portion of every purchase at Firehouse Subs helps support this mission to do good, save lives, and strengthen the communities we serve.

When an aging rural fire department in a Union Pacific Railroad zone faced emergencies with outdated gear and a $21,000 annual budget, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation stepped in with a $17,000 grant. The new bunker gear gave firefighters the ability to respond to house fires, rescues, and mutual aid calls — restoring their ability to protect their community and save lives.
“We may lose a house, we may lose a car — but we don’t lose people.”
In Midway, Florida, volunteer firefighters battle both traffic and time. With new cordless extrication tools funded by a Firehouse Subs Foundation grant, they no longer lose precious minutes untangling hoses or generators. That speed? It means lives saved — and first responders protected.
“Every minute is a life-saving minute.”
When a car crash left Mr. Salinas unresponsive, it was an AED — placed in a patrol car thanks to a Firehouse Subs Foundation grant — that brought him back. His family, first responders, and the community will never forget that day. This is why we act — to make sure life-saving equipment is where it’s needed most.
“If it wasn’t for that device, we’d be mourning the loss of my dad.”
You’ve seen the lives changed. Now imagine being part of that story.
